Ok guys this is my first subject posting since Aug. I think! It looks like so much has happened since I've been gone! There are so many newbies!!!! I have really missed all of you and can finally sit and scroll through postings without getting queasy.

Special thanks to TC for checking on me and making me feel missed!

I haven't done a cake in over a month because I just couldn't get through one without being sick! So I've been living through all of you and looking at your great work to keep me inspired!

I was curious as well! I understand all too well how you have been feeling, as do probably all of us. Just take it easy and don't overwhelm yourself with sweet smells. Before you know it, you'll be back to creating cakes again.

Welcome back to the "living" icon_wink.gif

Not sure how much help this is now that you almost over your morning sickness. but this is what i was told helps. When you go to sleep at night put a stack of crackers and a cup of ice on you rnight stand. When you wake up the ice should be melted and the water should be cold. beofre you evensit up grab the crackers and eat about 3 or 4 then once those are down sit up and drik the water. Now i cant say if this works for sure or not cause i didnt have morning sickness. I had more of a OH my gosh whats that smell sickness. LOL the smell of eggs just did me in.

When I was pregnant, I was managing a Mexican restaurant. If I worked the morning shift, the pine-sol from mopping the floor made me sick. if I worked the afternoon shift it was the mesquite grill that had been going all day. I still can't eat anything mesquite-smoked. Yuck. My all-day-long sickness lasted into my 5th month. I actually lost weight in my first trimester because I couldn't eat anything.

I feel for ya - glad you're feeling better.

Ali

Oh how I feel for you! I now have a three month old, but I was in the middle of my second Wilton class when the morning sickness hit. The smell of frosting did me in. Actually, I had an aversion for sweets for most of the pregnancy...not now though, I think I'm trying to make up for it now icon_smile.gif Hang in there. Just remember that this only lasts for a short time in relation to a life with a beautiful child...well worth it...best wishes!

Welcome back and congratulations! I remember all too well, what certain foods and smells can do to you when you're pregnant!! I had "brush your teeth" sickness. I felt sick everytime I brushed my teeth. It was crazy! Anyway, it may seem difficult right now, but enjoy every minute of your pregnancy. It goes by so fast, although it may not seem to while you're sick... You'll miss feeling your baby kick and move around more than you know. I have my son (my avatar picture) and he's the only child for me so it's kind of sad knowing I'll never feel a baby in my belly again. What an amazing feeling and miracle of God!

Welcome back!

I can also remember that falsely named thing called "morning" sickness. Mine was 24-7, all 9 months long sickness! Luckily here in Canada we have something called Diclectin and it was a Godsend! I could not have made it through without it.

It's good to hear yours is easing up, I feel for any woman that has to go through it. Men will never understand however those of us that have experienced it can sympathize with you all too well!

Take care and have fun making those cakes again!

Well, I got it done in one fell swoop! 3 at once, so perhaps that's what made it so bad. Of course, it's all worth it! icon_lol.gif

Diclectin is a combination antihistamene and vitamin B complex that has been used for over 25 years to combat morning sickness. As it was I lost weight with my pregnancy however it allowed me to at least eat and keep it down, most of the time. It's not approved in the US though...

Thanks you guys!!! You've made me feel so loved! I'm feeling lots better, but the queasiness comes and goes. I don't think I'm quite ready to start baking cakes again. Something about looking at those eggs... Isn't that silly.
Sweet... that's so weird abou the red stuff! I'll have to pay closer attention to what makes me sick and see if there is a color involved! icon_eek.gif

Sure glad you are back, Kristy! I'm almost embarassed to say that through 3 pregnancies (many years ago) I never had morning sickness, nevertheless I certainly can sympathize with those of you who do (and did)...and I also agree that once the baby arrives you will feel like it definitely was worth it! Like they say: Whatever it takes!

Take care of yourself. Janice

Peacockplace..

Congrats...how wonderful, a new addition to CC! a Cake baby..lol

Sweetcreations,

what's with that tomato thing? I had it too. Couldn't eat ANY thing with tomato sauce in it and I LOVE , LOVE...Italian foods!

and mine was evening sickness. I was fine all day when I was pregnant with my son 19 years ago..but, I was praying to the porcelain God right after dinner...especially if it was anything with tomato sauce...YUCK!

(funny note, the only thing my son will eat that is made from tomatoes is Ketsup...and he doesn't believe me, even after reading the lable that its made with tomatoes!! He HATES tomatoes! Go figure?!)

Peacockplace I feel for you, I was sick for the first 7 months with my daughter and the last month which she was also a week late for and it was 24/7 only gained 18 pounds and she was 8 lbs 11oz

Hang in there, when are you due? Do you know the sex?

Peacockplace, I know what you are going through too. I guess we all do to one extent or another. I had morning sickness with all four of my kids. Lost weight with all four. Had it 24/7 for almost four months. And that is one of the major reasons why I don't want to be pregnant again. I tried all the home remedies out there and none worked for me.

But it gets better from here on out. Congratulations again.

Tripletmom - God Bless you! All nine months, I don't think I could have made it.

Poor thing, When I was pregnant with my son I stayed sick the whole time. from the day I got pregnant till the day I delivered, I could hold nothing down. And I mean nothing. I would eat but like my DH would say I dont know why you dont just get the food and drop it on the ground that is where it is going anyway. My daughter was much easier. I didnt even know I was pregnant with her till i was about 4 months along and then it was just because i had gained weight and so i went to the doctor because i was upset about gaining the weight. hope the rest of your pregnancy goes by smoothly.

Peacockplace, sorry to hear about your morning sickness. I had it with both my kids. Lost weight in the first trimester with both. Couldn't eat pizza at all. I remember when I first got pregnant with my daughter and my DH was out of town. I was so excited. I was just going to order a pizza and watch a movie for the evening. So the delivery guy comes and I get the pizza in, open the box, take one look at it, close the box, put it in the fridge, turned out the lights and went to bed. I'll never forget it.

What's really weird too is I hated onions for the 35 years before I had my second (my son) and then after I had him, I like onions. Go figure.

Oh, I hope you feel better soon!! I'm totally sympathetic I was really sick from the dawn of the 4th month til delivery, couldn't hold ANYTHING down. I actually lost 24lbs and part of my esophagus lining from throwing up so much. Anyways, back to you, I hope you feel better soon and get back on track!! Best wishes!!!!
