A while back my parents offerd to have their kitchen certified since I can't have a home bakery in NYS(They are just over the state line in MA) Well.. after a lot of thinking and some work it looks like it might actaully happen. We are just waiting for the final paperork and the building inspector to do one last check. It looks like I am FINALLY going to be able to advertise and try to make some $$ at this. I am SOOOO excited about this. AND.... a dear friend of the family who owns a very succeessful business in town has also approached me about buying some of my goodies to sell in his store. He also does a lot of business for large parties and is willing to give a recommendation and my cards out if this all works.

I know that my cakes might not be as fancy as others here on the site and may not do much for others here but everyone tells me that my goodies are delicious and the kids cakes that I do always are a hit. I am really excited and just wanted to share . icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Congratulations! Your cakes are beautiful. Good luck with the new 'business'. I would love to do that myself as well, but I need to wait until I'm sure this is something I want to do as a business, not just a hobby. Do you have a name for your business?

I'm still working on the name. I was thinking M-n-Em Edibles (combines mine, and my two daughter's initials) but still not sure what to call it. I will be combining it with my mom's business Angels in the Attic and thought about trying to put some sort of "heavenly" or angelic name to use. Any suggestions would be helpful. Country Kitchen Creations was another thought.

If your mom's business is "Angels in the Attic", what about "Heavenly Edibles"? icon_smile.gif or "Heavenly Confections"?

Your cakes are definitely good enough . . . I love the Adirondack cake and the holy communion cake. Also, I saw the easy 1st birthday cake . . . it must have been made to match the plates and napkins, right? I just did a 1st birthday cake last week based on the same design!!! =)

This may not be what you're looking for name-wise but I like the idea of doing something like, "Sinfully Sweet" to go along with your mom's "Angels in the Attic" ... by the way, what kind of business does your mom have?

Thanks ckkerber. Yes, the first birthday was done to match the plates and napkins for a friend.

I like the Sinfully Sweets idea. Very cute idea. Mom does quilting and sewing. We used to have a craft shop a few years back but had to give it up.
