icon_biggrin.gif Ok ...so my printer was running out of ink so after dropping off my darth vader cake....( I got a littl extra the girl loved it so much) I decided that i was gonna use my $$$ to get my daughters party supplies (my little pony-its a month away but i keep stopping in because they are always out of stuff) and print my recent cake pictures off my digital camera so I could reuse my memory card.... So Im waiting for them to finish printing and the girl at the counter was like WOW these are cakes.... and asked for my number for her daughters bday cake.

I was shocked because the vader party was at a bowling alley so tons of people from all over were coming up and asking where the cake was from ......

So I tell my husband about it.......And told him that I was gonna make a button that said I MAKE CAKES!! ASk ME and that i was gonna make a littl efilp book key chain when people actually asked me they could see....

I was joking ....because when i used to sell tupperware we had these and the little tupperware keychains......

He said it was a great idea but really how silly would this be!

sorry im rambling but just wondering out loud

Doesn't sound silly to me. I have a T shirt that I wear on the weekends or when I'm off of my full time job that says something to that effect.

That is a great idea.
You should definitely print up some business cards for yourself (don't know if you are licensed, but that might still be legal) and definitely carry a small flip photo album in your purse. Your dh was right on!

thanks everyone.............

I thought it was funny...because Im always walking around saying stupid things and my husbands like whatever.....( Except for the time i wanted to open a store that sold funnel cakes called Funnel Vision and sell these with differnt toppings)

Everyday Im always thinking about "PLOTS" what can I do next....my husband ever supportive is like what ever....

This time he was like DO IT ....and I asked him if he knoew I was kidding.... so I needed another opinion

scoobam---Im a photographer as well...so I think that Im gonna try that I shoot brides idea.

Go for it!! Anything to get the word out!! The best way is by word of mouth!! I have gotten several new cake orders from people after seeing my cakes at parties or weddings. icon_smile.gif

I haven't worn my CC shirt out yet.. I ordered a long sleeve jersey & it's been too hot to wear it! I can't wait to wear it!! It swallows me but I'm still going to wear it icon_smile.gif People have noticed my CC license plate cover though!

Hey, if anybody actually would like buttons or magnets for advertising contact me, I can make them for you. (See my forum info for my email address.)

You can say "I Bake Cakes! Ask Me!" or anything else you would like it to say, including a logo, phone number, photos, completely personalized.

Since I'm a computer geek, I've taken lastingmoments idea one step further. I found two digital photo albums that can be carried around. I don't have either one so can't provide a review but maybe someone here has one -

The first is a keychain. I've seen many variations but they all have a 1" window and can hold about 50 pictures. Around $50

The second is the Kodak Picture Viewer. The window is 2.5", has a zoom function, can hold 150 pictures and comes with a carrying case. Around
$70.

I also have a Ceiva digital picture frame. It can be hooked up to the phone line and the pictures are sent electronically. This is great not only for cake pictures but for relatives that aren't computer savvy. 8" screen and holds 30 pictures. $100 plus $100 yearly subsctiption. www.ceiva.com

Hope this was helpful!
