Hi! I'm in need of ideas on how to make a lime flavored buttercream for a sneaky-surprise cake for my fiance, and unfortunately, I need to be able to do it with what's on hand: either lime Jello gelatin or Torani syrup.

I'd prefer to use the gelatin; is there any way that adding it in small amounts to my preexisting recipe would work, or do I have to cook it?

Thank you much!
Illy

in my opinion, you need to use real lime. just add the zest of a lime, and some fresh lime juice o your regular buttercream recipe.
