A sugar cookie recipe that will be made to sit inside a glass display case for 3 weeks and can't break down.I want to enter my decorated cookies into the same competiton as last year however the cookies are a new category this year!! It has to be 100% Edible but keep in mind the glass cases get quite warm and there will be lights on the cases all day!!! I can't use a hard dough material and I don't want to use Gingerbread because the dark dough will not compliment the wedding cookies I plan to do...

Any suggestions!!! icon_smile.gif

Will you be judged on taste? If not, I wonder if substituting butter for shortening would help keep the cookie preserved better? Either that or let them dry out instead of immediately covering them. LET them turn into rocks before decorating....?

No...they are not judged on taste just decorating technique and design.

you could make ginger bread and subsitute corn syrup for the molasses and leave the spices out and it should be pretty light but still nice a sturdy.

How about using some sort of "sculpy" clay...bake it off in the oven to harden???...then decorate..but you may have to use a bit of super glue to keep the decorations on..??
