My very first time making a 1/2 sheet cake and middle of cake got stuck to pan!  I never had a problem with my smaller cakes getting stuck, so I didn't even think to do anything different with this larger cake.  Big mistake!  I should've done my research and used a liner.

Anyway.... now that it's done and my cake middle had been glued back into place with buttercream, what will this look like when I serve it to people?  Will it be noticeable or will the pieces fall apart?

Please help!!

it'll be fine -- a little extra buttercream never hurt anything -- if it's vanilla bc on light colored cake or chocolate bc on choco cake all the better -- no worries either way -- you're fine

Don't worry! Broken cake happens more than we realize. People only care that their plate has a piece of cake, not how neat the slice appears to be.

Thanks so much!  I was really starting to panic.  Cake is for a retirement party tomorrow and I need the rest of the day to worry about decorating it.  Hopefully there are no disasters with that part!

I second what everyones saying. Poeple want to see a beautiful cake on the outside which counts! And obviously tasting good. But once you cut, thats it. People just want to eat. Would someone look at a half cut cake and say, oohh that looks really bad. Na, because the inside is for eating, outside is for looking, lol. Im sure it tastes great too with extra buttercream, that can't hurt anyone! Good luck!
