Hello bakers!

I have a costumer that asked me to do a pillow cake with a Genie's lamp on top (like the one on Aladdin's movie). I have the cake covered but I'm having issues figuring out how to do the lamp out of either fondant or sugarpaste. I looked for a mold online but apparently there isn't one that big, they only have for top decorations like a cupcake. Any ideas or suggestions will be of great help!!  Thank you so much!!

maybe you should make it out of rice krispy treats and put a skewer in it to support the spout. Then I would cover it with a yellow modeling chocolate and put gold luster dust on it. I would also probably put a dowel in the bottom to support it.  Not sure how big it has to be but I'm thinking that one made out of fondant/gumpaste may not dry in time. It sounds like it is due soon!

Thank you for your suggestions!! the order is for march so I have plenty of time but I want to start planning ahead. Do you know if there are any molds out there? The lamp should be around 4-6 inches long. Thank you again!

you can definitely make your own mold if you can buy a toy lamp.  That would be a great way to go!:-D

You can also just make it out of fondant and let it dry you have plenty of time ...

I just created one out of rice krispies, covered that with white chocolate and then fondant.  I can send a picture once I'm finished.
