AI have an order for this wedding cake and I'm not sure about how to place the shoe and football in those positions. Well i was think push a couple of dowels into the football which would be made of rice krispie treats. But as far as the sho which will be made of gumpaste I have no idea of how to support it in that "kicking" position. Any suggestions. Also I have no idea who the original creator of the cake is but they rock!
If you look closely at the shoe it appears there are tow clear "dowels" of some sort supporting the front of the shoe.
AIn your picture there are a couple of Perspex?/transparent dowels visible under the shoe so that's what you need. Otherwise have a dowel in the stiletto heel and another in the point at which the other shoe sole will be touching the cake, if you wan hem to be invisible.

AThanks everyone I found the dowels with your help of course but unfortunately they won't be shipped to me in time. My customer had another baker who backed out on her and when she was referred to me we weren't left with enough time to order the perspex dowels. My last resort is to see if my neighbor who works for a glass manufacturing company can tell me where I can find something similar.
How about cocktail stir sticks? I've seen them in colors, but I'm sure they come in clear too. Oh, and just a suggestion: I would make the shoe a bit smaller in relation to the football. I'm thinking the proportion is a little off. Good luck!
