AI just received this product for Christmas and I am SO excited to try it! Does anyone else use it? Where do you buy more product? I'll upload a pic once I try it!

AI found it took longer to set up, but I am in florida with higher humidity. It turned out really beautiful. I bought it from Global sugar art.

Where are you living, Melbakescakes?  I buy mine from Cakes About Town but that is no use to you if you live in the states.

AOh good to know cazza1! I do live in the states but I am from Canada and go back often so I will look that store up! Thanks. I just ordered gold and pearly white mixture from an etsy shop that ships free to the USA

Cakes Around Town (not about as in the above post) is in Australia, not Canada

I found the Cake Lace and Claire Bowman's Crystal Lace mat to be pretty easy to use.  I did put it in the oven to dry it as I didn't have time to let it air dry.  I'm an inexperienced home baker and was pretty happy with how the lace turned out.  This is on buttercream.  I ordered from Global Sugar Art.

ACool! Thanks for the pic. Don't think I'll be visiting Australia anytime soon lol, although I do love it there! I'm anxious to try the mat out in the next couple weeks

You'll truly love the Bowman lace mix - haven't tried it myself but have heard glowing reviews about it.  I use Sugar Dress and had no idea you could apply it to buttercream - thought the oils in buttercream would leach into the lace and break it down - making it sticky.  Good to know.

Its great stuff, the gold can be much stiffer once dried but still really good to use. It can turn a simple cake into something really special within minutes and most importantly cheaply!

Adenisenh I love that blue lace cake! It is so pretty against white, I will have to try that when I experiment with coloring the lace

AJust wanted to give an update - I just did this dummy tier with cake lace and I love it! Easy to work with and apply. I tasted it and it pretty much disolves in your mouth so I bet with a bite of cake you wouldn't even notice it! Here is a pic :)

ASo beautiful!! Have you used it only on the cake lace mats, or will any other mats work? It seems to be expensive but I really want to try it!

AI have only used it on the cake lace mats so I'm not sure how it would perform with others. I do have one mat that is a bit deeper of grooves so it does take longer to dry compared to the lace mat I used in the picture. I got a little excited and now I have black, white, gold and pearl white mix! I don't even sell cakes haha. Oh well, looks like my next cake will all have something lace on them

I have used it fine on the sugarveil mats...it is a bit more awkward to apply as the grooves are much smaller so you have to really make sure you have the mix pushed into the mat but came out beautifully :-)
