AAnyone use the Wilton edible candy markers? I am a newbie and making a fondant cake and using small detailed silicone molds for decor. I figured fondant is the best way to go? But the mermaid tails and faces are so small I figured edible paint would work best. Went to michaels and saw markers by Wilton that are safe for food. Has anyone tried them? Do the colors come out bright and vivid? Or any other products you can suggest? I was also considering food gel but not sure it will dry completely? And if I were to water food gel down, would it ruin the small details of the fondant mold? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks for any advice !!
If you go the gel route use clear spirits such as vodka, or lemon essence, not water to thin for painting. It dries heaps quicker.
I have Americolor pens that I have used for small details but have not used them very much yet.
AI prefer the Americolor pens but Wilton does make a fine tip and a bold tip. If you can find the fine tip you may find that small details are much easier to obtain!
AThanks guys! Do the markers come out very bright? I didn't see the americolor ones at michaels or hobby lobby - where do you get them?
