I'm not handy at all when it comes to building things....anyone here know how I would go about building this, it would be perfect for my deliveries.  Thanks.

AWOW! This is just some 3 or 4 planks of wood and a sheet of wood that is measured the width of the back seat to front seat. This is such a GREAT Idea! Thanks for sharing.

On close up, it looks like they have put 8 right angled brackets (2 in each corner) that the box sits perfectly within and therefore doesn't slide around when turning a corner.  You would buy these brackets in the builders hardware shop.  They are used for building roof trusses and walls - and there are 100's of different shapes and sizes.  There are ready made holes in the brackets for screwing in a screw to fix to the timber - they have only screwed down the 'bottoms' and not the 'sides'.

The timber board & corner brackets are custom made to fit this box, I wonder what they do with smaller or larger boxes?

ADo you think they have brackets spaced differently on different sheets of wood according to box sizes they typically use? I was so excited, I didn't even see the brackets LOL! I would still try this, my curiosity gets me in trouble! Thanks Magic Mouthfuls!

I put towels under a board to make it sit flat on my car seat, and put that webby rubbery non slip shelf liner stuff on the board, and also inside the box, and nothing slips.  I like the idea of having a board set up and ready to go though.  I might have to get out the power tools!

AI am a hobby bakery and made a wedding cake for my cousin as her gift, and needed to transport 3 boxes...An 8" and 10"cake box and a14x14" heavier box continuing a stacked 10 and 12" cake (UPS has nice heavy, square boxes at decent prices). My hubby made a similar board and extended It across most of the back seat...we used rolled towels for the slight incline under the back of the board and he screwed small blocks of wood to wedge the box fronts and backs..then for extra security (because I'm a worry wort and only occasional bakery) he screwed the left and right seat belt buckles to the board top. The venue caterers carried my cakes in for me and were quite complimentary about his ingenuity....I had been really fretting about the transport....Wish I knew how to uphold apic.
