Hi!

I got a Duff Airbrush machine and I love it and have been using it on small projects like sugar cookies and having great success. I was just trying to cover a bigger cake and I'm having a huge problem with when I turn the machine on and I'm not pulling the trigger back, the liquid is shooting out and I can't control it so it's messing up the coloring on the cake and it's just shooting everywhere.  I have searched all over the internet for some kind of help (since the airbrusher didn't really come with instructions) and I can't find anything about it.

Can someone offer any kind of advice on how to get this to work the way it should so I'm not spitting color everywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Judy

I have one and have never had a problem with it. Is the tip screwed on tight? Sounds like there might be a defect, call the manufacturer and let them guide you. I have had great experience with their cake support so maybe they can be better help.

Airbrushes require cleaning every once in awhile. It sounds like with the airbrush has been clogged with something (have you used dusts? mixed your own color?) or the needle is bent, which then you would have to replace the needle.

Thanks....I have only used it about three times....I used the actual airbrush liquid that came with it and cleaned it thoroughly so I'm not sure what I might've done.  It's very frustrating.

AI dont have a duffs airbrush but when mine does that, I clean it with bakery crafts airbrush cleaner. You can find it online at fondant source based out of kissamee florida for a couple of dollars. Definitely check the needle as well, a bent needle as mentioned can definitely cause that as well.

i read on another post that "you have to clean it VERY well or it will clog and sputter. Use cleaner and hot water and cleaner and keep spraying until it runs clear. And if you use a glitter/sparkle/pearl, dilute with vodka and clean extra when done." HTH

I have a master airbrush system.   The first time I used it I dropped the nozzle and bent the needle.  They are very delicate.  Easy to install new needle.   $4 dollar fix.  Hope this helps.
