AHi folks, I have been asked by a friend to make her wedding cake, we have Agreed on 10,8,6" tiers. She loves my roses and has asked for a cascading waterfall of them. Only thing is I have never made that many roses for a cake before so Im a bit clueless!! Is there any sort of way to roughly estimate how many ill need to make? Ill be wanting a few extra for transit. Also how does one attach that many roses? Wire and royal?
Hello, there's a few ways of doing it. First if you have cake dummies of the same sort of size, stack them up and pretend they are the wedding cake. If not, cobble some things together to make up the shape roughly! Then drape some string around it how you want the roses to go. This will help you work out how long the cascade needs to be. Then depending on the size of your roses, say it's 3 or 4 wide, you can work out how many 'rows' to make. HTH :)
And start at the bottom when arranging them on the cake, that way you wont drag your fondant as the weight of the ones above will be taken by the ones below
