So, all I have is like a sunshine yellow color.  Icing is very bright yellow.  This is the yellow I'm going for:

Should I add just a drop of orange?  I'm scared to mess it up.

Thanks.

Nevermind.  I took a chance and added some skintone color to it, and it subdued it enough so it isnt' so blinding.  Not perfect, but I'm not looking for perfection.  :)

I have a color wheel (you can get them at the paint store) & it is a magical thing. I can adjust to the color I want and it tells me the base color and the colors to add. HTH

You could have just taken a small amount of frosting, like a quarter cup or so & tried to add the orange to see how it changed the color. If you liked the results then you could have done it to the whole batch. Just an idea for next time you have that situation.

APossibly try a small amount of ivory or brown which will take bright yellow to more of a gold color. As Rudd said, make a small amount to test it, then you can adjust it, without a lot of waste. Good luck!
