Help!!! Lavander/violet Fondant Disaster!!!!

hello everyone! i am in a bit of a crisis with colouring my MMF purple. i used americolor violet to colour my fondant but instead of turning purple/violet it turned this way (sorry about the mess):

 

 

 

 

i am doing a sofia the first cake so i wanted it to look this way.

 

 

I can i still salvage this fondant? please help...

Not sure how it will work but try adding some pink color.  Also, it takes time for color to develop in fondant.  Sometimes just waiting several hours will do the trick.

Did you add any white color??  I always add liquid white..seems to make the colors more true.  You might also have too much color..

AThanks for your replies. I read somewhere to put baking soda to my fondant to make it violet so i tried it and it worked although @Jeannem might be right that i put too much color or maybe i bought the wrong shade of violet because it turned like the violet in the lower part of the logo of cakecentral. Do you guys know what colors should i add? Would white work?

AMagenta and cyan are the primary colors that are used to make purple. I would take a little piece of the fondant and try adding the magenta first and see what happens.

Maybe you could take a sample to a paint store and they could tell you what you needed to add.
