So I know that wedding cake servings are different sizes than a "party" cake. My question is this, if for example an 8" round cake serves 20 servings for a wedding but only 15 for a birthday party, which am i charging the customer for (if im doing per serving prices). I mean the cake costs me the same eitehr way.....
any input?
I don't price per serving. I say an 8" cake cost $$$ and can serve 15 to 20 people depending on how it is cut.
thats a good idea... how do u do diff flavors, designs etc?
i think even if i price per serving i should say serves 15-20 depending on what size silces you cut
seems like a total duh answer, cant believe i made this question alot harder than it is lol
You can still work out your prices however you want but you don't have to tell the customer how you work it out.
For example a fully decorated 8" buttercake with buttercream might be $4 per wedding serve so costs $80 and a chocolate cake with cookies and cream centre might be $5 per wedding serve so costs $100.
All I tell the customer is $80 for buttercake and $100 for fancier fillings and serves 15-20 people.
