AI suggest posting the method you used to get that number. Nobody can tell you what to charge...but they can tell you HOW to figure your prices. You can also search around the forums to learn more about how pricing is done

i'm just being silly.. i think...if she does not want edible diamonds and wants real ones $500 is not even close :-D but you mean you're using crystals right?

40 servings is really small -- like an 8x4-- the baubles and bling are definitely a significant upcharge $500 is looking fairly respectable because there is an intense amount of decor too -- but another big deal is the liability where someone might eat an errant crystal--there are a lot of them to keep track of --fairly daunting unless you yourself do the serving and  wow -- i'd insist on edible for loose ones at least --

so you have to make those half butterfly things too -- the materials are gonna add up fast -- y'know how in restaurants they do 'market price' for lobster and things like that because those prices fluctuate so much -- i'd do 'market price' on the bling -- give her a price on the cake and start searching out bling sources/prices -- give her a rough guestimate in the meantime maybe --

 you gonna make the pearls?

you could use a couple nice thick cookies for the lid

30-35 gum paste flowers

custom pearl covered stand

custom crystal covered stand

ton of bling in general, the quilting and the swags etc.

butterfly bling thing

monogram bling thing

sculptured cake

2-3 different molds some are overpiped

blinged ruffle around the lid

yards of pearls

and some cake under there ;)

$500 easy fricken peasy

are you responsible for whatever that is on the right corner? can't quite make out what it is

i think $500 would be a bargain

AThank you for all the feedback. I'm not sure what the thing in the corner is or if I'm responsible for it. I'll have to ask. An aquintance contacted me on behalf of the person interested in the cake, so I have to setup a meeting with them personally to get all the details and to ensure nothing is missed by going thru this middle person.

The bakery that made the cake has a $400.00 minimum. Looks like the "thing in the corner" is a tiara maybe?

What is the point or ordering a big fancy cake covered with cheap, tacky plastic jewellery?! Why not just put a jewellery box on the table, lol.

I assume this was ordered as a custom cake and apparently the customer preferred that design. It's definitely not what we would order, but we're not the customer...
