Hi, I used to post here once in a while but stopped when I took a hiatus from doing cakes (as mainly a hobby) so I can focus more on my family. Anyway, I'm starting to get back into it and hopefully, I'll be more active here. I am making a cake in 2 weeks for a friend and she wants these flowers on it. Does anybody know what flower this is? How would you make it?
Let me try this again...

AIt's made up. Cut a circle that will serve as the base the size you want the flower to be. Then use a small circle cutter to make the petals. Beginning on the outside edge place your circles around, overlapping a little as petals would. Work your way inward staggering the petals. Hope this makes sense. I am going to attempt,to post a pic of a cake using this technique. Mine were done making them much more "cutsie" and less real looking but it is the same technique. When I saw the disc on the back of the flower in the pic you posted it was the dead give away.
The title under the pix says dahlia, but it is actually a fantasy interpretation of one.
