AHello All, I see lots of posts lately looking for website feedback, so I'm here with questions for everyone about starting a site.

Do you think a website draws more clients for a home based business? Is it essential to have a website when I currently have a facebook page with all my pictures? What elements do you include on you page (photos, about etc.)? Did you pay someone to design is or did you do it yourself? Which website providers are best for a DIY site?

Having a website has the potential to draw in more clients and it also looks professional and lets current and potential clients know that you are serious about your business (not implying those who do not have a website are not serious also).  The question is do you feel you need a website?  If so then go with your gut and make one. You can also ask your current clients, family and friends their opinion. It is plenty of sites that you can set up your page for free and get a feel of if this is something you want to maintain.  Wordpress, Blogger, Tumblr, and Wix are good sites that offer free DIY webpage set up.  They all have everything you need to make a unique webpage that will showcase your business.

I myself have work with Blogger, Wordpress and Wix and find them all great sites that can be used.  I currently am using Wordpress and using Bluehost for website hosting services.  I based what I put on my website as if I am a customer.  What would I want to see, know and be able to do.  I am by no means an expert but hope this was helpful. :D

Here is my site which is still a work in progress but hopefully it can give you some insight on what you want for your own.   www.confectionsyndicate.com

It's important to have a reliable and consistent web presence. Therefore, every business needs a website regardless of having a Facebook page. We have no control over Facebook (here today but maybe not here tomorrow; free today but maybe not free tomorrow).

Absolutely...there are a lot of low-cost hosting options that you can use to get started. A facebook page without a website reeks of amateur even if you're a licensed home-based business. It just isn't professional enough to stay only on facebook.

AI can recommend wix.com they make it pretty easy and customer service is awesome. In the 2 years I've been with then I've never had any issues.
