Hi

My daughter has asked me to make this cake for her birthday and I was wondering if anyone could give me some hints and tips on how to make the owl out of fondant?

many thanks in advance

i would print out the picture the size i need and then cut it out to make templates of everything --but see the indents that run from his cheeks where his wings spread out? that would be easier in modeling chocolate as well the layer of feathers just underneath that too because you can make two layers of feathers then place them and erase the seam with the heat of your hand--

but it's doable in fondant--you'd use a skewer or toothpick to make the texture in the feathers--hold it like a marker and just make the marks--

i add cornstarch to fondant to stiffen it up to do modeling--

best to you
