Hi there,
I am making my boyfriend a birthday cake this Friday and I have never used Fondant,
could someone please tell me how I would do something like this?
It would really be a lot of help, thanks so much!!
I hate to be a downer, but if you have never worked with fondant, that may not be possible. First, the cake is carved for the shape, making lots of added "turns" for the fondant. You would need to drape a large piece of fondant over the whole rectangle, then carefully mold it into each area, without tearing it.
The details don't look too bad, each handcut out of fondant also. You can print templates for those from pictures. You would want to do those ASAP so they can dry until Friday.
ADue to the carving, complex fondant wrapping, and precise appliqués, this one might be best left to an experienced cake artist. That's just my opinion.
