I Need To Make A Cake For 100 People
Decorating By Andreab1032 Updated 14 Jun 2014 , 8:04am by Andreab1032
Hi, i am making my very first professioncal cake. up until now ive just been making cake for my family
I have been asked to do a rectangle cake for 100 people
my cake pan is 10 x 15.
I was thinking to do 3 cakes stacked on top of each other but that would make the cake really high
i considered making 4 cakes. and having two side by side and stacked on top but that would make the cake 20 x 30 and i cant seem to find a board and box to fit that cake.
i really need some help figuring out how to make this cake
please if anyone can help me. i would really appreciate it
thank you
AI'm not sure if this would help. But you may have to tape cake boards together and then get a piece of wood to support the boards and cake. I know this may not be the best idea, but I don't know of any cake boards that will hold a cake of that size. If you did the two cakes side by side would that provide you with the serving size you need?
if you did a 15X15 you would have enough servings if you did a two layer cake-- so you'd need to bake three 10x15 cakes--two of them you stack to make a two layer then the last one you cut longwise and stack on itself then slap it up against the other one to make it 15x15
oh but that's a square-- is that ok? i can figure it out for a rectangle if you have to have a rectangle -- i mean you said rectangle after all
Wait a minute am I just being dumb because I can't figure out how two 10 x 15 cakes beside each other make a 20 x 30 cake. In my mind they make a 20 x 15 OR a 30 x 10 . . .
Am I wrong?
and andreab, we need to know what kind of servings you want to give--like for a one layer sheet cake--where they are cut 2x2--
or are you doing a two layer cake? where the servings are typically 1x2x4

this is actually a really good idea. thank you so much. will this give exactly 100 servings? or more?
