AHi guys I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips and advice on the easiest way to cover a polystyrene dummy head with fondant? I am making a spider man cake for my baby nephews birthday, and I found a particular cake that uses an actual dummy head that looks super cool and I know he would absolutely love it and would guarantee give me the title of being the coolest Aunty ever if I actually pulled it off! I'm also wondering if I should make the red fondant out of mmf or should I just buy red si? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!:)

AIf I were going to do it, I'd use modeling chocolate --or Duff's/Fondarific--because you can heal imperfections in them with the heat of your hand. I'd massage some crisco onto the dummy, roll out a huge piece of product and drape it over the head, working my way down over the facial features.

AThank you for you're very helpful suggestions!:) I've never worked with modeling chocolate before, do you think it'd work well if I mixed it with some mmf? I'm trying to find any other alternative besides buying the already made fondant as it could be very expensive for me considering I live in hawaii:(

Sure.  I'd want to do at least a 50/50 mix.  You can make modeling chocolate using candy melts, so if you can gather up some Micahels/Joann coupons, you could save some $$.  Same goes for Duff's fondant--coupons are the only way I buy the stuff.
