Melting Cakes........ugggghhh That's So Sad.

Just did a visit to the Cake Wrecks site. They had melting cakes and it was pretty funny on the little grocery store cakes in those plastic boxes...........
until I got to the tiered cake with the cascading flowers
and they had melted and slid down the side of the cake. It makes sense for people to make buttercream out of Crisco, and sticking to fondant covered cakes in summer.
Couldn't help myself MB had to go and have a look, oh dear the melting flowers were not good. While I was there I had a look at a few cake wreck weddings, always enjoyable if it's not your wreck.
AOoh I saw that too, poor things! I do love CWs though - it's the 'what they ordered/what they got' wedding cakes that get me - jeez! And the squirrels one, OMG terrifying!
That is THE best site to browse through when you're feeling a little less confident about your own caking abilities.
Agreed, I found myself looking at it waaaaaayyyyy to often, trying to make myself feel better.
I also like that section on What they asked for and What they got. That's why I never-ever say "Yeah I can do that!!" I always say "No Way can I make that. You're looking at a $1,000 cake made by a professional decorator!."
I love the 'what they ordered/what they got' series!
Mel37 I just saw the headless bride cake too.....I have no idea why anyone would want a cake like that.
ADid anyone see the Mickey Mouse on a bare female chest? That might be one of the most disturbing images ever.
You did fine, grasshopper, as I knew exactly which cake you were speaking about.
I'm still pondering the melting cakes........ and that's a cake that should have melted !!
