AI'm working on a project and fondant, 50/50 fondant/gumpaste and straight gum paste aren't working. I need something rigid enough to support itself sticking out horizontally. I have pastillage recipes, I've never used it. I'm just a little concerned because everything I've read says it dries super duper fast. How fast does it really dry? Is it instant? Or do I at least have a few minutes to shape?

oh no it's like quick drying gum paste--you have time to work with it but you can't dawdle -- yes sure you have time to work with it

AWhew. That's a relief. Everything I've seen is all "WORK VERY QUICKLY, IT DRIES OUT SO FAST!!!" Luckily what I'm doing is pretty simple, so I'll certainly have enough time. Thanks!

It dries about half the time as gumpaste does, like say 2 to 3 hours it's already rigid, in 24 hours it's like hard powdery porcelain bisque.
