what are some of your sweet favorites--we probably all love kitchen tools too much-- i do -- except when washing dishes--leave that for another discussion--

--i treasure my mom's rolling pin--ball bearing--old as methuselah -- not mom the pin! well she'd be in her 90's --

got any sentimental favorites or something specially acquired?

AOne of my favourite tools was actually a clay sculpting tool. It was plastic; one end was a perfectly shaped knife, the other end curved slightly and was perfect for lifting and placing small things. I used it all the time, and then one day it snapped in half! So sad! I still kept using it, but somehow both pieces got misplaced (I suspect they may have been thrown out, looking like a broken kids toy and all) and I have never been able to find another just like it. :( Sorry, this should be a happy thread, and here I come with my sad story of destruction and loss! ;)

It's just gotta be my Kitchen Aid stand mixer.

I know that's not much of an original answer but I baked for decades and it was like finding the magic holy grail after buying my first one.

Everything else (the hundreds of little fun tools) are fabulous but frivilous compared to it.  When I want whole grain Wheat flour, I grind it on the KA also.

I have at least 1,000 cutters. And that's still not enough. I'm thinking cutters must be my favorite thing.

I have made quite a few, but I didn't find it even a little bit fun.  :-D Been looking into 3d printers, but I'm not impressed with the edges.

You got that right! I am in desperate need of a vacation - I just reserved a beach house right on the beach for the end of summer, but just for a week. So I think I've decided to get one for a month during December. But I still won't think making cutters is fun when I come back :D

AI still have my first set of Wilton tips my dad purchased for me in 1980 to take the Wilton class. I was 16 and it was for a grade in home economics( do they even have that in school now?). I still use them.

you said it, mb, and i don't think we were clever enough then to figure out how to make them break quicker on purpose but we were working on it--except for nylon and silk stockings of course
