so i still have a few thing to sell--left them in the yard--with a price on therm--so i've had folks come knock on the door and say--love the couch but i don't have any money-- agh ok
next one -
her -"how much is it"
says right on it--ok i'll bite
me-"$75 obo" -- (or best offer)
her "ok well what's your bottom price"
next one --
them "how much will you take for it"
me- "$75 obo-- make me an offer"
them - "oh i don't want to insult you"
next customer i see pull over and get out is several months pregnant--
she who is pregnant and rubbing her own tummy says --" oh we need this couch it's so nice my daughter is having a baby tomorrrow morning and we can really use this" (to have the baby on? was afraid to go there) she continues ,"but i won't have any money till friday but i have a good job and we're respectable people" -- ugh ok -- btw- the couch is white just to enhance the baby delivery visual
ROTFL, I was just going through stuff for a rummage sale, had totally forgot some of the things people come up with. The couch scenario still has me stuck
me too -- lol
--was selling a little fuzzy pet bed & the lady asked how much i said $1-- they guy said FIFTY CENTS-- i paused, i said a dollar--he said FIFTY CENTS like this was some kind of high stakes bidding war gonna show off for his sweetie --we went one more go 'round and he coughed up the buck--i guess i don't play that game well--heheheh
but we had the best day--the weather was sweet --we enjoyed the sunshine and sat in the shade and drank iced coffees, ran around trying to find the right cd to go in the right box--lotta fun--
just one day though--was better that way
go out there and double your prices and then 'give them a great deal'. Make them an offer they can't refuse.

great minds & all that -- i did -- then i put up a sign and said--1/2 price on this table --the couch price has been slithering southward all weekend--i'm parking on 75 but i'll take 50--hey the day before it rains it's going on the street side of the side walk and i guarantee it won't take 30 minutes for it to disappear-- poof -- if the rain can hold off till half the neighborhood gets a payday i could sell several of 'em -- heheheh
i'm real proud of my neighborhood peeps for respecting that on my lawn it's still mine $75 obo
It sounds like good times K8. I live in a duplex near a pretty busy street. I cant wait for the weather to break and get started. My neighbor always has rummage sales. I put out a few this last year and got a nice little stash of pocket money. I'm downsizing so I hope to get rid of a lot of things including my commercial stove that is giving me a headache.
There's a nice shady tree in front of my house so every weekend that the weather is good I plan on being under that tree, lol.

Haaa haa IKR, the stove can go but not my baby, even if I have to strap it to my back, it's going with me. Did you see the AGA cake in the gallery, now if I could find one of those at a rummage sale!
isn't it beautiful? it's a castle pizza oven--has three big stones (shelves) in it -- i've never hooked it up
OMG that's nice! Why haven't you played with it yet? I'd be pretending that I was an Italian baker tossing up dough.
I have a six burner Garland H- series, I have always wanted to put stones in it. Never seem to find the time to order them.
Kate, a three tier pizza oven?? did you have a business? Sell everything and take a vacation.
It's a cake in the gallery that's an antique replica of one of these

i've had several businesses and plans for several other businesses --
my husband got all wound up about me potentially burning the house down if i installed it -- *insert rolling eyes smilie face* so annoying he was so he got me the deluxe--
i love that castle oven-- it's like a bake easy on steroids--such a pretty face!
are you familiar with elmira's--they look ancient but they are state of the art inside--seriously droolicious --
black & silver -- they got all kinds of colors--

OMG, no words....... I'm actually in shock!........My kitchen is decorated with Coca Cola, black, red, and stainless steel. Now everything is going in the rummage sale!
I have found Utopia!

seriously! we had to replace our home oven/stove deal like 10 years ago or so and i had just been laid off from a brilliant job and i had a $weet 'package' and i debated and debated and debated getting one of those and debated with myself some more--shoulda got it 'cause i got a regular ole oven that is the biggest dud on the planet--cost a fraction of an elmira of course--
...but it's not too late--hahahaha
I don't even want to know what the price tag is on the red refrigerator! Just looked at my piggy bank, it scoffed, turned up it's nose and turned it's back side towards me, hee hee. In my case it will remain a dream.
thing is--i've kinda grown out of that style--i used to love the victorian kinda old fashioned stuff--now i'm more mission style and minimal--warm but minimal--
i want a smooth stove top this time--easier to clean
I hear you K8, The only thing I have left in my living room as far as furniture (got rid of the couch and love seat) is a Stickley Morris chair and another chair in a coordinating color that I love.
But in my kitchen I like durable functioning pieces that have a bit of style. I'm just obsessed with things I cant afford and probably watched a little to much HGTV.
Lol, I wish they would do my front yard, it's in such a sad and pitiful state. I'd really like to stick it to my neighbor with colorful plants exploding every where! We share the yard and I swear she has a gnome or some other form of decoration in every square foot or inch. They are slowly gaining ground towards my front porch.
