it take for color flow or royal icing to dry? I tried to do some colorflow for a Spiderman cake lastnight, left it alone overnight (I'd say it had a good 16 hours to dry), and went to go remove one extremely carefully and the one I was removing as well as the one next to it snapped in two!
Do I try again? My cake is due on Saturday. I promised a Spiderman, but I want to make the one out of the 2005 yearbook.

I've never used colorflow. But the Royal Icing drop flowers I did took about a full day to completely dry. And they were small.
I usually let my color flow dry about 48 hours. Just a hint..when you are doing color flow, make two "puddles"(just a big dot) of color flow to test so that you will not mess up your piece if you try to remove it too soon. If you think the color flow is done, try to remove one of the puddles. If the puddle is completely dry, then the piece should by dry as well. The reason that I make 2 puddles is that if I remove one too soon, I still have another one to test without having to chance messing up my color flow piece.
Royal icing takes 24 hours for small pieces and 48 hours for larger pieces. Thay must be left somewhere warm and dry. A good tip for removing royal icing run outs is to bring the piece to the edge of your counter top. bend one corner of the paper down over the edge. Very carefully continue pulling paper downwards. while cradling the run out in your hand. The two should part easily. I do find using butchers wrap instead of waxed paper works better as well.
