I got a call today for a cake that looks like a Nintendo controller from the 70's.  Learning from CC about matters like this I told her I would get back to her.  I called Nintendo's "legal department" and they said that their office could not give permission but that I should seek local counsel about the laws in my jurisdiction.  Huh?  Nintendo can't give me permission but someone from my city might be able to?  How does that work? The Nintendo guy said, "Well, you know, there are always loopholes..."  Anyway, I sent an e-mail to the young lady and told her I couldn't do the cake without incurring legal fees, so no, sorry .
