Help With A Wrestling Ring Cake Please!!!

AHello everyone, I will be doing a wrestling ring cake soon and I'd like some advice on the best way to create it. I've done one before but I wasn't fully satisfied with the way the corner poles and ropes came out. I know there has to be a better way to do them where the poles look sturdy and secure, and the ropes don't hang or look droopy (I'm going for a straight across look). If anyone has some suggestions or ideas I would greatly appreciate the help, Thank you in advance!!
AIs there a certain size they would like the cake to be? I always make too much cake purposely for my clients (its better to over achieve than under I always say lol)
AAnd have you tried rolling fondant around a thin dowel such as a cake pop stick cut to length?
AThank you all for your responses! On my last one, I used the pull apart twizzler which gave it that droopy rope hanging look, and it also pulled the corner post down a little too. Ive seen some cakes that look like the post are really secure but can quite figure it out how it was done.
