AWhere can I get hands-on help to learn to get buttercream perfectly smooth? I've bought videos , had great tips from here, but I just can't get it ! I need to watch someone and have them watch me. I even signed up for the cake decorating class at the CIA but that is just one small part of the day .

Anyone who has struggled with this - what helped you? Thank you! Nancy

AYou are right. Sometimes, ya just need to see it in person.

Wish ya lived here in SC.

Is there an ICES group near you?

International Cake Exploration Society usually has monthly meetings called "Day of Sharing."  It would be a good place to meet other cakers willing to share.  http://ices.org/

There are MANY wonderfully talented artists in NY.  I would also do a google search to see if there are any classes available the time you will be there.

AThank you! I don't see anything on their calendars. They may not post? They only have like one event for February in Vermont and a few in March.

If anyone knows of a NYC baker who would perhaps teach a private (paid) lesson on buttercream smoothing, please PM me? Thank you! Nancy
