In a couple weeks, I'm making a racing car shaped cake that needs to be a caramel flavour. I'm planning on making a couple rectangular cakes and stacking one on top of the other for the base and then top of the car. (Yes, dowelling will happen!)


Any good recipes for doing this? I have a great caramel mudcake recipe, but think the centre will be too moist and dense for a good carving result.


Also, any hints on how best to create the tyres? I was thinking "Rice Krispies" might work well.
