Ateco Cake Stands

Thread Starter
I have decided to purchase an Ateco Cake Stand.i have heard they are the best. In research there are 2 models , a 612 and a 613 both are round, and they also have a 12" square model. Any recommendations as which will be more useful --round or square. Most of my cakes are round. Appreciate any feed back.

I would get a round one if you mostly do round cakes.  I have the Ateco one that Webstaurant store carries - not sure which model number it is, but it is very nice.

I have an old Ateco, it got wobbly so I got a new Fat Daddios. It has an unfortunate habit of coming unscrewed if I turn it counter clockwise.  Weird. May have to get out the old Ateco again.

Of course we all have our limits, but how can you possibly find your boundaries unless you explore as far and as wide as you possibly can? I would rather fail in an attempt at something new and uncharted than safely succeed in a repeat of something

I have 6 turntables (I know, its insane). The two I use are the 613 ateco its nice to elevate the cake when I'm decorating. The one I use for icing is a wooden one that resembles a lazy Susan. Im very very short so I don't like icing my cakes elevated.

Whatever you decide to get make sure It turns seamlessly

It's never "just cake!"

You may get a cake for $way to little but you won't get this cake!

I have an Ateco stand.  It spins easily and smooth which is great for smoothing icing & ganache but it can be annoying as it doesn't hold a stationary position well - I have to hold it in place.  I use it but not for cakes that require piping (for example).

I love what I do and do what I love
