Ugh I just got an email notification :( and it was the same message but they were repiles to 2 threads that I was following. So they are not only sending pm but posting to threads

Just went to the threads and the post is not there but the email came from cakecentral, did they get hacked?

Yes, as many of you know we were hacked yesterday by 2 different user names.  NEVER click on the hyperlinks of those emails or posts.  Cake Central Sends daily emails and you should all know what they look likek if you have been a member here for any period of time - if it doesn't look right, don't open the email, just delete it.  If you KNOW something looks off with the email you have been sent, report it as SPAM thru your email provider, system or host.  If you see a post on the forums that are spam, just flag them and we will remove them as fast as we can.  We had over 300 hits yesterday via posts and PMs that were sent so it took a little time- I hope we got it all.

I'd also like to take this moment to make sure you are ALL using the internet using updated browsers, operating systems and most importantly, VIRUS PROTECTION.

If you don't know if you are, don't know what those are, or don't know how to do it,  we can't stress enough to get some help from someone local that can look at your computer and make sure all these things are current.

I would also suggest you change your passwords to everything and have a different password for each account.

Hackers and spammers suck - but it's the way the internet is.  You have too do what you can to protect yourself.

Thank you and good luck.

And apparently today by apparently the same "person".

This person is SMART and CLEARLY knows the Cake Central system.  Please make sure you DO NOT CLICK ON ANY HYPERLINKS in the email notifications or the love match PMs you are getting, especially the cakecentral.com hyperlink in the love PM that's being sent.  I don't know where that hyperlink will take you and I don't know what virus it WILL put on your computer but DO NOT click on ANY of the hyperlinks in those thread postings or PMs.

Our system is overloaded so although we have already caught and deleted the spam post from the thread, the email notification system is bogged up and still sending out notifications to the thousands of members that have subscribed to the threads that were SPAMed and there is no way to stop it (or so I've been told).  Please just delete them.

If it is Jason, as so many have been suspecting, this is showing his true colors because whoever is doing this is trying to give ALL of you viruses and ruin your computers.  I hope it isn't him - we didn't see eye to eye but I didn't think he was this vindictive and frankly THIS big of a jerk.
