A co-worker asked me to do a 3 tier birthday cake for her grandson. The entire cake will be covered in fondant.  The bottom tier is covered in grey fondant with a Batman logo on the side.  The middle tier is covered in blue fondant with a Superman logo on the side, and the third tier is covered in red fondant with a spider web design and spider on the side for Spiderman. The logos are made out fondant and just applied to the side.  This is my first cake that I am doing that I will be paid for.  I've done cakes in the past for work (wedding, graduation) for nothing except to make them to put in my portfolio.  It doesn't look difficult, but I'm unsure what to charge for it.  I was thinking $130 - 150, but I'm not sure if that is too high or too low.  What do think would be a fair price?  Thanks.

overall i think you're low for fondant--i'd go with those prices for buttercream

if you did an 8 x 6 x 4 at $4 a serving it would be about $160-- if you threw in the logos -- which you do encounter copyright issues with logos too--but logos should be about $10 - $15 at least unless your per serving price was high enough to absorb them--which it is not at this point --

$4 a serving for fondant is about as low as you can respectfully go i think give or take--

sounds like a cute cake and good luck
