Hi All,

Apologies if this is a silly question as I've recently discovered cake decorating with fondant.

Can a cake that has been iced with cream cheese have fondant or sugar sheet shapes (smallish hearts / leaves / flowers which won't weigh very much) put on it.  Will the cream cheese react or melt the fondant is what I'm really asking.  I realise if the fondant is too heavy it will sink into the cream cheese.

Thanks in advance

Vanessa

I'm interested to know this as well. I've recently had someone request a cream cheese icing with fondant decorations but I'd think it would melt. And she may even want the whole thing covered in fondant. Did you ever find your answer elsewhere?
