Anyone planning to go to Cookie Con 2014?

I have registered to attend the Cookie Convention in Salt Lake City this year and while I will be traveling with my husband (unless his work plans change) I will not know anyone at the convention.  Just thought I'd see if anyone here plans to attend the event or has attended the event in the past and has some insight into what to expect.  I am pumped at the thought of spending the weekend with 400 or so people who love sugar cookies as much as I do!

I have had a small cookie business from my home for many, many years but quit my job as an Event Coordinator in 2012 to attend Culinary School and make a go of expanding my business.  I absolutely love decorating sugar cookies but know there is a lot more I can learn!

Just thought it might be nice to make some new friends before the Convention!

Happy New Year Everyone!

It is great to hear from someone here in Austin!  I'm kind of surprised not to hear from anyone else attending the conference.  As the days go by it looks less and less like my husband will be joining me on the trip but I'm still holding out hope.

Sorry it has taken me a few days to get back to you.   I checked out your facebook page.  Your cookies are beautiful!  It looks like we do a lot of similar work.  Let me know if you would be interested in grabbing coffee or something some time.  I live in south Austin but travel to all areas around the city on a regular basis.

Hope you are keeping warm on this cold, rainy day!

A Cookie Convention.......That must be fascinating.  Wish I could get off this iceberg and go also. Enjoy!!

Hi, Kathy-  Glad to hear of someone else attending!  Did you attend the last convention?   I think it would be great to make a plan to meet up at some point to say hello and put a face to a name.  I for one can't wait!

MBalaska-  I couldn't believe it when I came across the ad for Cookie Con.  I signed up as soon as it was possible.  Wish you could join us!

I'm going to CookieCon and I am so excited! I'm a hobby baker and I didn't get to attend the last one. I'm coming from WA State and would love to meet and hang out with some other CookieCon Newbies icon_smile.gif

Darla I didn't go to the last one.

liz at sugar, MBalaska and nancyg - You should join us.  There is a waiting list to put your name on.  Go to http://cookiecon.net/ticket_info.php.  There have been cancellations as Mike and Karen contacted me last weekend about an available ticket.  I had already purchased my ticket from someone else who couldn't go.  So Mike and Karen were going to contact the next person on the list.

andpotts - glad you are going.

We are all going to have such a great time!

Thank you for the invite, Kathy, but I will be baking my heart out here at home.  Maybe I can make plans for next year!  Have fun and absorb all those new ideas!
