Figures

I am making gumpaste animal figures, and no matter how much I roll/warm the paste in my hand I can't get rid of the cracks and or lines in the gumpaste. I even warmed the gumpaste in the micro for a few seconds. Any suggestions?

Have you tried mixing fondant with the gumpaste 50/50? I've heard this decreases the chance of cracking, and will also give you more time to work with the figures so they don't dry out to quickly

Yes, I've heard of that, will try it. Thanks for your reply

You might also knead a bit of shortening into it. I make figures often and use a 50/50 mix.

roll the fondant out and cut it with a circle shaped cookie cutter and then roll it into your shape.  For some reason that works for me!
