I have a family that celebrates all the birthdays each month at once with a big family dinner and of course birthday cake. They order their cake each time from me, and I am starting to run out of creative ideas. There is always a combination of men, women and kids each month, so it makes it  harder to keep it, kid friendly, and not too girly for the men at the same time.  I have done game themes, like scrabble boards,  small fondant presents on the cake with each persons name on the presents, balloons with names, candles, a film reel with pictures, well, you get the idea. I really don't want to repeat themes since it is for the same family each month. Does anyone out there have any ideas off the top of their heads they would mind sending my way?! I  am loosing my creativity on this one!

Depending on how many people have birthdays that month you could make a cake shape with the same number of sides and give each person a side with a few decorations that match their interests/hobbies.  So for 3 people a triangle, for 4 a square, etc. Then something generic on top like a bow.

Or what about doing smaller separate cakes?  Maybe featuring their first initial so they are all cohesive yet individualized?  Or instead of their initial you could do their age numeral (if the birthday people aren't sensitive to that stat!)

AWow that must be one big family! I guess it depends on how big the cake is, and the space you have to play with.

How about if you make each birthday boy and girl as modeled figures around the cake, like sitting on the edge of it, or holding a sigh with the age they're turning, or leaning on the numbers too. Maybe they could be holding a string of bunting flags around the cake that said "Happy birthday".

Cute ideas, love the idea of giving each person a side, but there are 8 birthdays this month. Ohhh,  I guess it would work if I did a two tier and used square pans!, also love the idea of the figures, but I  think i'll have to wait for a month with less birthdays, and I am sooooo slooow at trying to make figures. lol I'd never get 8 done in a timely manner. lol

i would have just done cupcakes so all the bdays get their own personalized cake. while the rest of the family just had a simple swirl cupcake in matching color theme.... those ideas are amazing though... may have to use that for august in my family...
