Any tips on coloring fondant black? i felt like it was taking forever and so much color to turn it black....it seemed a lot more fragile once it was dark enough...do i add more water? shortening? it worked out in the end because i didn't need a whole bunch of it but it would be nice to have a few tips for next time :D...thanks for any input!!

AI just did it for a cake this week and the best tips were to make chocolate fondant (I use Michelle fosters recipe from this site) then go from there to black or to airbrush. I actually did both and it worked great.

The best idea I got for black fondant was on this site (can't remember who gave it but thanks;-D), mix together different colour fondants that you don't need and add black or brown - whichever you need - colour gel until you get the colour you want.
