Hi everyone :)

I came up with making cake in two layers of different colors. happened that next day my cake dough turned hard, just like a rock. what a disappointing situation Smh!! that was supposed to be a special cake for my mom's and look what happens.

Do you think the coloring I used has to do with that? it was not as spongy as I always make it either. do you think its just coincidence? or I might over mixed the dough when applying the colors?

please help, I dont want this to happen again, Thanks a lot.

AI'd say something went wrong in the measuring or mixing process. I've added food coloring to cake batter before and never had that happen.

Wait, did the batter get hard or the cake after it was baked?

AYou have to take the cake out the oven and wrap it right away. Your cake will stay moist for days. Trap the heat !
