doing a baby bump cake for the first time and wanted to know how much fondant to use and which size cake board to use? HELP! THANK YOU
How many servings does the customer need? This will determine what size pans you need and then you can determine what size board to place it on.
AHi! If you are using an 8" ball pan are you placing it onto a 14" cake also? If not I would say you need a 14"(or 16") cake board so that you have enough room for the legs and blanket. You will probably need a 3 lb box if buying the fondant in a box and covering the board also( to be safe)... You will probably use 3/4 of the box. Also, make sure to get the skin color right...I have seen many pretty cakes turn out awful because it was too pale or just not right :-(. I have a 8" baby bottom on a 14" cake in my photos if you want to see if that will be a big enough cake board for you.. Hope this helps some :-)
