What would be the best tip to use when using a lilly nail. I don't find much
on the subject.
hi grandmasue-i purchased a video on ebay that showed you how to do all kinds of flowers and what tips to use. i can't remember right now which tip it is. i will have to get back with you on that, unless someone else knows off the top of their head.
To make the Easter lily, Wilton suggests using a tip#68 for the petals and tip #14 for the throat, then brush the throat with a damp brush to blend and insert seven stamens in the center. Hope this helps!
..you made to to widen the tip #68! I also just saw where a tip #74 can be used for the Easter Lily or Poinsettia!
wow, that's interesting. the video i have shows using tip #104 or tip # 352. has anyone used either of these tips?
Thanks, You gals are so quick and generous with your answers.
Now can anyone tell me how to make stamens?
Thank you
Grandma sue
I usually just buy the packs of stamens but you can make them as well. To make them...put some yellow icing (I use royal but I guess buttercream would work also) in a decorator bag with a small round tip (#1 or #2) . Insert the wire into the tip nad into the bag, pull the wire back out and gently squeeze the icing as you are pulling it out...it will coat the wire. Then squeeze a ball of icing on the tip of the wire...put the wire in styrofoam to dry(ball end up!). Repeat for each stamen needed. It's much easier just to buy them but this works too!
