A silly question I need to ask.

Hi there to all. I have finally achieved an awesome consistency with my stand mixer, but now I have a question about when I need to double or triple the recipe. My chocolate cake recipe calls for mixing all ingredients for 2 minutes, so here is my silly question. If I double the recipe do I double the mixing time? and then triple? I know if I am baking a larger cake of coarse I would bake it longer. but I am a little confused on the mixing time. Thanks so much....

Hi, no you will not need to double or triple the time.  That would cause over mixing.  I would suggest mixing it for two and a half to three minutes, or until it is smooth and silky, with no lumps.  Good luck on your cake, I hope this was helpful.
