gel color in sugar cookies?

hi...

 

i have made sugar cookies only once and it was almost perfect. now, i have an order for 300 iced sugar cookies for a wedding (along with the cake).  so i have to kind of match it with each other, bride needs red. my question is, can i color my sugar cookie dough in red? with a gel color? is it possible? pls help!!

rhyile:  Yes.

  • sugar cookies
  • refrigerator cookies
  • butter spritz press-out cookies

Put the color in with the addition of the eggs.  Match the color of the dough with the color of the sugar crystals.  (putting colored sugar on white dough always looked like a case of the measles IMO)
