Hi,
How much do people charge for gas (cooking) and electric when making a cake etc? I'm sure I read on here you can claim 50p per hour for gas.
I just asked someone else and she said £3 per week for g&e?
Anyone got any ideas. Thanks :)
AI learned in culinary school that the standard for pricing food items was to triple your ingredient costs - which should hopefully cover your other costs as well and leave a little for profit. It's not fool-proof, but there really is no fool-proof way to price out food since you never really know how long something will take you, how much waste you will have, etc.
AIf you want to accurately cover your costs, find out how much you are paying per unit of energy, and how much energy your oven consumes. For example, if your electric oven uses 3.6 kW and you pay 12 cents per kWh, you are paying 43.2 cents per hour in utility costs to operate it.
