AI have a bride who has requested something similar to this picture. I was planning on using a silicone lace mold, but I haven't been able to find anything like this pattern. Does anyone recognize it or know of something similar?
ASorry, I couldn't get the picture to load. Maybe this link will work. Www.edencakecompany.com/communities/7/004/011/351/567/images/4582917221.jpg
AThat is a much better picture! Thanks! Does anyone recognize it or have any suggestions?
Could it have been a custom mould that they made themselves using a piece of actual lace by any chance? I only say this as the ridge detail on the lace bits doesn't look quite as pronounced/detailed as it does when compared with lace moulds I have used bought from the shops...?
I have made my own molds with intricate buttons before and found it very easy (first attempt came out perfectly!) but I have never tried it with lace so can't help there, sorry! If you had a fairly 'chunky' lace and could stretch it evenly so that it didn't distort then I would have thought it would be fine but i'd imagine it would be hard to get definition on some of the really delicate ones. I use silicone plastique for mine and love the stuff! http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/silicone-plastique Good luck!
ADo you know if Hobby Lobby or Michaels carries anything like the make your own molds? I'm very short on time and not sure it would get here in time if I ordered online. Are there any other DIY options that might work? Thank you for all your help. I'm getting very nervous and a little desperate
Hi! I saw that Caljava Online sells some Fondant Lace Molds http://caljavaonline.com/collections/fondant-molds and they are on sale too.

AI finally found it, but can only find it on UK websites. Most of them don't ship to the US, or if they do can't get it here in time. The mold is called Great Impressions Lace Scroll Floral Large Mould if anyone has any ideas:)
There are lots of people on etsy that make lace molds. Most people on etsy do custom orders if you or the bride can find a lace applique that matches this design. Another place that you can get lace molds is CKproducts. I have also seen them on Ebay. You can get mold making materials from chefrubber.com and marvelousmolds.com too
Why does it have to be exact? there are loads of lace moulds available that IMO would look as good, if not better!
This is not a particularly nice one - its thick and looks like it is just slapped on (no slur on the maker - it is just the MOULD)
There is NO reason why you can't IMPROVE on a design concept that a bride give you
