Doubling up cupcake liners to keep color

Hello,

I know I read a trick once for doubling up cupcake liner cups so they retain their color. Do you bake them in two liners or do you bake them in a white liner and then frost them into another fancier one?

I bought some "greaseproof" liners on Etsy but they still bled through.

Thanks!

I bake them with two liners. The outer one seems to stay closer to the cupcake. If you want the outer liner to stick out a ways, add it later.
