Oh I'm sure it will be fine! It will just be hard and no ones gonna eat it anyhow.

That's what I figured...

RKT's the mother and I decided to wrap it up and see if it is still usable in a month. She has been following the pics and commenting how great it looked all along but never asked why I was making it so early. I am so embarrassed.

Ugh! How frustrating - be sure and keep it in absolute darkness so the colors don't fade. If it were me, I'd put it in a box and cover the box with a thick, black plastic bag and stick the whole thing in a dark place. And it looks soooooo good! The scales are put on so perfectly, too. I would never have the patience for that. Well done!

Oh my!!!  I agree with howsweet but check it two weeks before due date and check the colors just in case.  I'm so sorry.

it's ok..Honestly with retirement in 5 days and takingcare of all of the red tape involved with leaving the Navy...and the upcoming Great American Cake Show I was really stressing. This takes a huge load off

Not sure if you did both sides of the neck but I would before you store it away. That way it drys all the same color texture..

I did this morning. I am going to put the 5 lbs of fondant I colored in the food saver. The biggest disappointment is that now I have to wait to see the finished product!

You may get a cake for $way to little but you won't get this cake!

Never heard back after that first email. The show I was referring to is an ICES thing in MD where I will be a vendor.http://www.greatamericancakeshow.com/

I am completely checked out of my command. Tomorrow I pick up my DD214. Monday at midnight I become a civilian. It's going to be a tough transition after being a sailor and living under a complete different set of rules for my whole adult life.

BatterUp.....let me be the first to welcome you the military retired life!    I retired in 1995...waaayyyy before cake life.   I can't believe it's been that long.   My Army buddies would crack up if they knew I was a decorator.   Oh...I never used my DD214 yet!    I make sure my husband knows where it is though..in case I croak before him.
