I've seen princess castle cakes with towers made out of two ice cream cones stuck end to end.  What should I use to get the cones to "stick"  together before I frost them or cover them in fondant?  Just wanting to make sure they're stable

When I made one eons ago, I affixed the tower pieces to each other with a bit of melted Wilton candy melts. They held very well.
